The WS GIANTS have recently installed iCool "TWIN" ice bath chiller systems, the most popular mobile ice bath chillers in the world, together with iCool portable pools for their recovery sessions and endurance training. The team joins the many thousands of elite athletes around the world who have similar iCool systems for their training and recovery.

The Giants will also have access to the 6 Spa Recovery Centre of Excellence presently being installed by iCool at the RAS stadium facility in the former Sydney Olympic Stadium precinct.

The GIANTS are the newest team to join the highly prestigious  Australian Football League, the premier league in the country and dating back more than 150 years.

WS GIANTS  were officially awarded the 18th AFL license. On July 29, 2010

The coach is four-time AFL premiership coach and Australian Football Hall of Fame member Kevin Sheedy – he’s a man with a vision and  a man who loves a challenge.

GWS has secured some of the most experienced and leading football and sports professionals in the country, including Graeme Allan and Alan McConnell among others.

In 2009 GWS celebrated the opening of Blacktown Olympic Park – the home of GWS. Jointly funded by Blacktown City Council, AFL and Cricket NSW, the purpose built $27.5 million facility boasts two first class AFL/Cricket Ovals with the main oval having a capacity for 10,000 spectators with grandstand seating for 1600. The venue allows GWS to bring pre-season matches and special AFL events to the community, whilst also providing a state of the art facility for the new club and its players.
